Paramedic Training

Paramedics primarily work in the pre-hospital setting and are the "eyes, ears and hands" of the emergency room physician. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and paramedics differ in the fact that EMTs provide basic life support (bandaging wounds, splinting, etc.) and paramedics provide advanced life support (IVs, administering medication, etc.).

The objective of the Paramedic program is to train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competency in a variety of pre-hospital Advanced Life Saving (ALS) procedures and techniques, in preparation for the Paramedic examination administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
